But after the first one I went to Italy, then we got 2 cats...and now it is December.
Still: the perfect time to make a Christmassy Paper Fröbel Star!
Here's how it is done:
You need 4 strips of paper, each at least 25 times as long as it is wide. Mine were 1" (2.5 cm) wide and at least 25" (62.5 cm) long.
Fold the 4 strips interlocking together. So both yellow ends are weaved in the red strip.
Fold the upper strips 1 by 1 over the square.
Stick the 4th strip under de first one.
Fold a strip into a point. (It doesn't matter with which you start.)
Fold the point lenght wise.
Then stick the end of this strip under the nearest strip.
Repeat for all.
Turn the project over, other way up. And repeat the steps from photo 2 and further.
Then it will look like this.
Turn the project over again, other side up.
Fold all strips, one by one.
Make sure they don't overlap.
Fold the strip diagonally. Make sure you fold outwards, away from the square.
Fold the strip upwards, in a straight angle. So it will 'stand up'.
Steek de strook onder de 2e strook (inclusief puntje) door.
Dit kan soms wel een gepriegel zijn. Dan kan een pincet helpen.
Stick the strip under the second strip (and under the pointy bit). Sometimes this can be a very snug fit. Some tweezers can help to pull it through.
The first of your 3D points is up. repeat for the other 3.
Dit is kant 1 klaar. Draai om en herhaal voor andere kant.
This is side 1 finished. Turn work around and repeat.
Cut the strips of along the diagonal side.
