DIY ear cushions for headphone / Crochet pattern

A couple of years ago I bought a Logitech Headset ClearChat Style. The set was a nice little price and perfect for Skype. And after a few years the headset still works fine.
However I did get a problem with the soft ear cushions falling apart.

"Easy to fix" I thought, I'll just buy some new ones.
Alas: these are not available!
A friendly guy at the electronic shop helped me trying if other brands would fit, but we couldn't find the right ones.

So I got in touch with Logitech, asking which replacement ear cushions they would advice. But they couldn't advice beyond whether or not the warranty still would apply.
I knew my purchase was too long ago for that. But I didn't want to discard a complete headset, just because I couldn't find new foamy ear cushions.

So it was time for a creative solution:I made my own ear cushions from organic cotton.

Here is the crochet pattern for headphone ear cushions:

Material:
Big organic Cotton (I used Linea Pura Organico from Lana Grossa)
Crochet needle : metric 5mm / US H-8 / UK 6

Chain 3 and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain.
Chain 3, 11 half double stitch in ring, close with 1 slip stitch.
Chain 2, 1 single crochet in first stitch, 2 single crochet in next stitch. Repeat till end of round. Close with slip stitch.

In the next 2 rounds you don't crochet in the whole stitch, but only in the back loop:
Chain 2, 1 single crochet in the back loop of each stitch, till end of round. Close with slip stitch.
Chain 2, 1 single crochet in back loop of first stitch, skip 1 stitch, repeat till end of round.

Cut the thread generously.
Shove the ear cushion over the ear piece of your headphone. With a tapestry needle attach the cushion by the loose thread to the headphone. Fasten off.
At the 2nd ear piece, use the loose thread to also attach the ear cushion around the wire.
Voila!
